About Us
The Poultry Life started a year ago, when our admin, Effie R, decided that there wasn't a website, that held only poultry related blogging things, like art, funny stories, or even a weekly dose of chicken fluffy butts! So, being the crazy chicken keeper she was, she decided to make The Poultry Life. It flew like a lead balloon the first time. She really hadn't been prepared. So she did it again, and it worked. But she apparently didn't tie all of her strings, and it started crumbling. But she still had a team of wonderful faithful members, and if you have ever met somebody in her family, you know they don't give up easily. So she simply moved everything over to here! And now you're here! So glad you came, and stay as long as you like. We always have something entertaining for you to read, and you can even support our team, by purchasing from some of their Etsy shops!

Hi there! I'm Effie, the person who began The Poultry Life. I keep 68 chickens, 12 ducks, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 4 sheep. In my spare time, I like to write scripts, and do stop motion. I also do ballet, and love singing.

Hi! I am a piano teacher by trade and have been teaching for many years! When I am not teaching, I love flower gardening, hiking, and I love creating Mabel's World Cartoons. I just finished my second book, "Mabel's World 2, Living the Dream". I am sad to say, I currently have no chickens except for my Mabel's World cartoon chickens, However, after five wonderful years of raising them, I had to give them up because of my back issues. My daughter took them and continues on the tradition! My husband, Alan and I have 4 grown children and 4 grandchildren. We have an 8 month old corgi puppy named Sammy we just adore.

Hello , I'm Josephine or you may call me Josey. I have a flock of 12 chickens and one dove. My hobbies are baking, Gardening, Photography, singing ,roller blading with my sister, rescuing baby birds and of course my animals.
